Blaine Siegel, and Jil Stifel, with PRACTICE, invite you to witness a physical dialogue between the animate and inanimate... and to decide where you belong.
This evening premieres a new series of objects created for dance, and a new dance created for the objects. The performance seeks an alternate way to view sculpture. The sculptures were created to hold kinetic potential, move, restrict, and make noise in manners that reveal themselves to an inquisitive and interactive viewer. Throughout the work the dancers will move with and rearrange both the art and the audience. They will occupy two of three looped ends of woven rope, but who will occupy the third?
On December 6th, and again on January 3rd, Jil and Maree will perform from 6-10pm, for 45 minutes intervals, with 10-15 minute breaks. Audience members are encouraged not only to observe but also to move through the space with the art and the performers.
