Everyday is a day to be health conscious of food ingestion, exercise, stress management, and medicinal treatment to optimize health longevity. In time the unwanted ailments, in my case relapsing/remitting multiple sclerosis, is welcomed by the positive changes in mind, body and spirit.Armstrong’s work began as a lifestyle experiment. As her body crippled under the power of her disease she realized the way lived her life and created her work had to become a united path toward healing. This path has become a daily practice of breathing, moving, writing, and creating as meditation. Through these practices Armstrong’s body of work not only serves as self-expression, but self-alteration.About the ArtistMegan Armstrong, a Baltimore native and recent MICA alum, has moved to Memphis TN to work as a designer for ALSAC/St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. She continues to hold a daily practice of movement and meditation as she teaches and practices yoga, but has lost the studio space in which she creates. In June, Megan will not only be sharing the many facets her work with the Philadelphia community at Practice Gallery, but also using the space to continue to create her work.
