I don’t know, but ALASKA!Dirigibles of Denali, is an augmented reality book coming out in 2018. What is augmented reality? It’s a digital overlay on the physical world (psssst - it’s like Pokemon Go, but Canadians can access it too – You’re welcome Canada!). Artists Nathan Shafer and Joelle Howald will be presenting some initial work from the book offering an alternate history of Alaska, exploring three unrealized Domed City proposals from the mid-20th century in Alaska: Denali City, Seward’s Success, and Arctic Town.  Also—science fiction readings by Ademola Bello and Joshua Medsker!About the ArtistsJoelle Howald and Nathan Shafer are two Anchorage-based artists who work in socially engaged participatory media and the digital humanities. In 2000 they cofounded the Meme-Rider Media Team. They have been working with augmented reality since 2008.
