Pa’lante ---Heather Raquel Phillips' outdoor exhibition
Please join us as we celebrate the opening of Pa’lante, Heather Raquel Phillips' outdoor exhibition at the 319 building. A call for unity across the African diaspora, Phillips' flags flown from the windows of Practice, Automat and Pink Noise Projects issue a reminder that BIPOC self-care is a crucial act of justice, strength, resourcefulness, and self-preservation.
Visit ALL DAY Thursday, August 13 to commemorate the centennial of the Pan-African flag’s creation – we will not have set viewing hours for the opening day.
Walk-by or drive-by at your leisure. We recommend driving up 11th Street from the Reading Terminal Market area, and taking a slow right onto Wood Street. When you visit, don’t forget to tag us: @heatheraquel and @practicegallery.
Keep an eye out as we post additional Pa’lante content, including takeaways, programs, and more!
Flags will remain on display until mid-October.
This project is organized by Practice Gallery, with generous support from our neighbors at Automat and Pink Noise Projects.
